148th Members Support Operation Continuing Peace

Aerospace Medical Services Specialists, Staff. Sgt. Daisha McCuskey and Sr. Amn. Alexandra Olson both from the 148th Fighter Wing will soon board the USS Kearsarge for four months to support Operation Continuing Peace, a humanitarian mission supporting Latin America.

Both members will provide health care to citizens in six different countries throughout the Latin American region. Staff Sgt. McCuskey, a nursing student at the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is taking the fall semester off to participate in Operation Continuing Peace. McCuskey said she "is very excited to help people, working with the Navy and the travel". Sr. Amn. Olson, a recent graduate of Lake Superior College said she "looks forward to the new experience and helping people".

148th Fighter Wing Vice Commander, Col. Frank Stokes said "Operation Continuing Promise is a tremendous opportunity for our Airmen to practice the skills they have learned in the Air National Guard. Staff Sgt. McCuskey and Sr. Amn. Olson will be able to work side by side with service members from all branches to provide medical support to our neighbors in Latin America. Their efforts will make a difference!"
