Duty Title: Command Support Staff, 148th Fighter Wing Logistics Readiness Squadron

Hometown: Cokato, Minnesota

Why is serving in the Minnesota National Guard important to you?  It's a way for me to have an impact on the community around me by being a part of something bigger. It's a way to challenge myself to do something I wouldn't normally do, and help others at the same time.

What military moment or accomplishment are you most proud of?  Being named the 2015 Airman of the Year for the Logistics Readiness Squadron is my biggest accomplishment.

What is your favorite part of your job?  The personal interaction: no matter what I'm doing, I'm helping someone else to better accomplish their job.

What inspires you?  My aunt, Master Sgt. Jill Haapala.  She inspires me to follow in her footsteps, and was the one who talked to me about joining.

What are your future goals?  My goal is to graduate college in the fall of 2016 with a degree in communications and from there I'd like to pursue a statutory tour someplace around the country.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the 148th Fighter Wing?  At the 148th Fighter Wing, I feel like I'm making a difference, and the fun atmosphere makes it enjoyable.
